Voici le pitch de la saison 3 :
The notorious warlock Johnny Spectre has died. His private collection of coveted ancient artifacts, including The Staff of the Crimson Moon, is now up for auction. This exclusive invitation-only event has attracted a who’s who of the mystical underworld. Among them is Doctor Rand, who is convinced the staff holds the secret to making his Kiloworg werewolves unstoppable. Also in attendance is Mr. Legacy, the foremost historian of the arcane. He and Declan Van Helsing suspect the Forgotten King will attempt to claim the rare red moonstone contained in the staff. If so, it would be the first time Monster Force has advance notice of where the Forgotten King will appear – so they set up a heavily armed ambush.
But what Declan doesn’t realize is that new players are infiltrating the auction as well – those who want to buy the staff, those who want to destroy it, and those who want to steal it.
What will happen when the Red Moon rises?
Red Demon (13 Ghosts)
In ancient Japan, a Queen by the name of Himiko united all the island kingdoms into a nation called Yamatai. She ruled in peace with wisdom and powerful magic, and when she died, she was buried in a great mound, the location of which was lost to history. Prior to her death, 13 warriors pledged their souls and swore to protect the High Queen even after her death.
Each warrior’s soul was embodied in an enchanted mask that would possess whomever put it on, allowing the warrior’s spirit to take control of the wearer. Throughout the ages, these masks have become known as The 13 Ghosts of Yamatai.
When the Forgotten King unearthed Himiko’s Tomb in the streets of Tokyo, some of her guardians’ graves were exposed as well. The mask known as “The Red Demon” compelled a tax accountant to pick it up from the rubble. The Demon then took possession of the accountant’s body and mind, grabbing his ancient swords and attacking the Apophis Legion. When the Forgotten King teleported away with the queen’s sarcophagus, the Demon joined Operation Monster Force in order to return the Queen’s tomb.
As a persona, the Demon is honor-bound and proud, but also a pragmatist. He was accustomed to leading men in battle, keeping a level head in high-stress situations. He has been the source of most of our knowledge on the 13 Ghosts and has continually demonstrated himself as the most reliable of the ones we’ve met so far. That said, though he respects our chain of command, he does not recognize it. The Red Demon sees himself as an ally, but not a member of our team, and has no problem reminding us of that when he doesn’t like a plan.
Ambassador of R’lyeh
The Forgotten King has made deals with unsavory individuals, but this one has us the most worried. Last month, a survivor of one of the Forgotten King’s raids was found. The guy had gone completely mad and just kept pointing at a picture he’d taken on his phone. The image was of a man-sized creature with a head resembling a horrible octopus. The survivor just kept screaming, “The Ambassador of R’lyeh!”
R’lyeh is listed in ancient texts as an alien city deep beneath the Pacific Ocean where a giant tentacled god sleeps. If those myths are true, then I’d hate to know what bargain the Forgotten King has struck with such a being, especially one that necessitates embedding such a strange emissary in the ranks of his army.
Commander Gridiron
“A crossbow bolt that delivers a payload of liquified garlic? Yeah, I got some ideas.”
Commander Gridiron is an arms dealer with a checkered past. His specialty lies in customized weapon load-outs on short notice. Even though he has customers all around the world – some savory, some not – he has become the go-to supplier for General Brown and the Sentinels.
Previously employed in the San Diego naval shipyards, Commander Gridiron entered the private sector to become something of a privateer patriot.
When General Brown needs to spin-up a response team to unique threats like an ancient sorcerer pharaoh, ninja army, or the return of R.I.O.T., Commander Gridiron is able to arm those teams at a moment’s notice. Whether it’s silver ammunition for a 50 caliber anti-werewolf gatling-gun, or a helicopter mounted chain-gun that can be carried by a sasquatch, Commander Gridiron can make that happen.
He rarely travels without his personal team, the Skull Crushers, and one can assume they keep the most exotic armaments for themselves. If an enemy were ever so ill advised as to attack Commander Gridiron, they would be in for a hell of a surprise in retaliation.
Mr Legacy
Mr. Legacy is a mysterious figure whose first confirmed appearance was in 1888 at a symposium hosted by Jules Verne. His travels have taken him all over the world, often in the company of great thinkers and writers. He always wears a mask to hide his face due to a skin condition that leaves him with an off-color pigmentation. He has a variety of masks and never removes them in public.
He is a self-proclaimed “witness to history,” eschewing direct action. Instead, he advises leaders in times of great threat, sharing his experience and vast knowledge. During World War I, he provided medical aid to wounded soldiers on both sides of the trenches. In World War II, he joined the Midnight Men in an advisory capacity.
No one knows the true identity of Mr. Legacy, and it is possible that he died during WWII, only to be replaced by someone new in the mask. However, in a world threatened by a mummy, where Dracula is our best hope of victory, a 200-year-old historian may not be the strangest thing to worry about.
Goblin (13 Ghosts)
The mask known as “The Goblin,” seems to have strayed from his oath over the millenia. The spirit has turned malicious, and seems to crave the suffering of others. He is an expert trapper, setting devious contraptions to capture his prey, only to delight in torturing them after. He, along with the mask known as “The Fog,” have fallen into the employ of Savitar and his criminal organization: Red Resolution. How Savitar compels their loyalty, and even how he found them to begin with, are troubling mysteries.
Dr Tannis Rand
Dr. Tannis Rand was a celebrated geneticist who harbored a dark secret – he is actually the last descendant of a family of werewolves: the Cult of the Crimson Moon. Searching for a cure to his curse, Dr. Rand discovered traces in his genome of an ancient, more primal version of werewolf. His research became an obsession, as he attempted to recreate what he dubbed “The Kiloworg. »
After repeated failures, Dr. Rand was visited by the Forgotten King who offered him a deal – in return for the secret of the first lycanthrope, Dr. Rand would create an army of werewolves to destroy Dracula. Dr. Rand agreed and was given the “Salve of the Beast,” allowing him to complete the genome, and bring the Kiloworg back into the world.
Dr. Rand’s own werewolf form is strong, fast, and possesses superior senses that might be keener than a vampire’s. But the thing that makes him the most dangerous is his brilliant mind. Dr. Rand is resourceful and capable of planning several moves ahead. Though he can probably be killed by silver, he should not, under any circumstance, be underestimated.
