Star Wars Black Series : Skywalker Strikes exclusive figure Review

Hey guys,

As some of you may be aware of, we in France discovered recently that the Hasbro Overseas exclusive figure of Luke Skywalker ha been inadvertedly released before the street date by a certain retailer (part of the Gamestop group).

Before it was removed from shelves some of us were lucky enough to score one. So it looks like we don’t have to wait until Paris Comic Con (25-27 october) to review this one.

Basically it’s a Yavin Ceremony Luke (which will be released soon) with different accessories from the comics and a killer packaging.

The box opens up like a book with velcro to keep in shut.

Among these accessories, you have a Jedi Training Sphere with stand, blast effect and black-shield helmet, a Lightsaber (with removable blade) and a blaster (much like Leia’s sporting blaster but with a shorter barrel). There also are a box and a book from the time Luke encountered Boba Fett in Ben Kenobi’s House in the comics. Both the book and the box display Aurebesh inscriptions meaning For Luke and Ben Kenobi’s Journals.

The figure itself is pretty much a basic Black Series Luke. The Jacket is one hell of a look but it interferes with the articulation of the shoulders and the wrists. The elbows are not on double hinges, making the arms even more difficult to pose. But they look OK.

I’m not too big a fan of the Black Series ratchet-y knees and ankles but they are doing OK here.

As you can see the sphere looks good on its stand and even though it looks alot like the S.H.Figuarts accessory, I think it might be even better since the weight of the sphere is not being supported by the saber itself.

The book looks cool.

I kinda like al the stuff he can carry.

Too bad the lightsaber hilt can’t be displayed on the belt.

Here’s a pic of Luke with Bespin Han Solo.

They do look good together.

A suivre

“Il semble que l’embargo était fixé au 25 octobre et que les équipes de vente n’aient pas eu l’info” décidément, ça en fait des couacs. On se croirait dans un gouvernement.

Petite question concernant le décor de cette sympathique review : s’agit-il de produits à la vente ??? Merci
